Nea Chora Beach
This beach is a very long one that attracts many tourists each year with its own beauty. What kind of secret lays behind the name of Nea Chora beach?
Nea Chora was raised and developed west of the old Venetian Chania harbor, and because of that local people called this destination New Town. Nea Chora was actually one of the first modern Chania outskirts developed outside of the Byzantine walls.
Before the stunning beach, that area was full of crop fields and it was irrigated by the river called Kladisos. You will be surprised to hear this, but now, this stunning beach is considered the greatest beach in the whole Chania city area, and with the most delicious fish taverns.

Also, you are going to see the building of the Chania National Nautical-Athletic Center which includes various sports facilities. This is the prime athletic center in Chania that has 3 pools including the Olympic one. Additionally, it includes sailing facilities and a fitness center that you can visit.
You can continue going along the coast and see the popular Nea Chora fishing harbor. You will notice plenty of fish taverns and choose the one that you like the most.
